Cave Art - Ceris Jones
--------------------

"I gain inspiration from the human figure."

"I aim to stress the strength of Man's skeletal armature which is overlain with flesh and related systems, with the unique qualities of the skin. When further encasement occurs, and our bodies are covered by various types and amounts of clothing, the coverings echo the forms and create new shapes and lines, protecting the strong though vulnerable body.

Cavers, divers and cave divers hold a particular fascination. Underwater cavers create very different shapes and the human form undergoes an almost animal-like appearance when aids, attachments and breathing apparatus are added. To go into the unknown holds feelings from obsession and apprehension to almost total terror and I try to capture these feelings and movements as I observe them"

- Ceris Jones.
