which includes current information on the club, such as contacts, this year's meets list, newsletters, events, photos and introductory info for new members. There is also the much larger CUCC achive and Expedition site at: which contains archival CUCC information from previous years, and CUCC publications and history. We are gradually adding articles from old issues of "Cambridge Underground", and it the eventual intent to have all issues complete on the site (although this looks unlikely to hapen in time for the club's 50th anniversary in April 1999). Most of the site is taken up with an archive of expedition material, including almost everything that has been published or written up on club expeditions to Austria from 1976 to 1998, along with some related material from other groups - See: This leads to about three novels' worth of text, together with many photographs, surveys, sketches etc. Much of this material never has been (and probably never will be) available on paper, as the web site is now the primary documentation source for these expeditions. However, the site can be made available on CD-ROM for those not on the web, or on the end of slow links. ------ exCS ------ ex-Cambridge Speleologists membership is open to anyone currently or previously a member of Cambridge University Caving Club, their spouses and families. It is an entirely informal organisation, keeping in touch by means of occasional newsletters, and an internet mailing list. It has a web page on the CUCC archive site at: http://www.chaos.org.uk/cucc/ExCS/Home.htm and a small site at: which includes a (password-protected) list of members' addresses, and instructions for subscribing to the mailing list. |
