| Hi, I am a pospective student of Oxford University and i am helping a scientist based there look for a cave dwelling magnetorecptive invertebrate. In other words an organism which can detect magnetic fields. For example: a cave dwelling nematode, usually found in the silt of underground streams and pools, would be ideal. I was wondering whether anyone here would know of any suitable sites, or if not could they point me in the right direction? If so i would be extremely grateful to hear from them. | I am posting this on behalf of the Glasgow University Potholing Association (GUPA). Does anyone have any information about the 'adopt a cave' scheme, whereby clubs clean up caves and are allowed to adopt them afterwards? We would like to do it as part of a fundraising campaign. | MUSS is 50 years old this year, and we're planning a big bash on 17th May. We want as many ex-members as we can find to be there. If you used to be in MUSS, or know someone who did, please add yourself to our mailing list at http://www.studholme.net/muss/50.html Thanks Jill Posted January 2008 |
| Having looked at some wonderful pictures of cave explorers, I thought I would give it a go myself. Fortunately, living in Devon, England, near Kents Cavern, turned out to be most opportune. Unlike most photographers, I chose to use halogen lamps and not flash lighting. As a result, the picture I got is so amazing. I thought all you guys who mess with cave photography, might like to see it. If you do want to, go to www.redbubble.com and search ?Cave Lord? ? which is the name I?ve given to the image. If anybody would like to give me their thoughts and comments, I would love to hear them. Henry Gee Posted January 2008 |
