The new Landlord, Colin has been keeping superb beer and varied at that (Speckled Hen, Pendle Witches, Pedigree etc.). The guy is very warm and welcomes Cavers and the like. |

| The Pilot Boat Dulas Anglesey. Run by Mark, an honorary member of Parys Underground Group. Not only does he tolerate cavers turning up every Wednesday evening covered in crap from the Parys Mine, he also provides free butties and very well kept Guinness (and manages to appear totally unfazed by the ochre stals hanging from his weekly customers...). Damned good food too! Getting very drunk and using the kids 'Fun Bus' is likely to result in lost wallets, keys and dignity! |

| The White Hart Inn The Bays Cheddar Somerset. This un-natural marvel can now be seen in all its glory due to the miracle of electric lighting. Feast your eyes upon the wonderous shapes to be found within and savour any of a multitude of mass produced traditional beveridges.Hear occasional live music with an even more occasional audience. Not quite the centre of the universe but time does seem to lose all meaning at about 11 o'clock on a Friday! Updated report, 2003 - The White Hart Inn is now under new management, keen to engage restaurant-goers and other folk who aren't covered in mud'n'shite; the pub now advertises itself as The White Hart Inn and Harts Restaurant; OK they still have mass produced traditional beverages, etc. but there is no live music anymore and the Cheddar Caving Club rarely meets there at all. However, having said all that, cavers do exist locally and they do go to pubs so there is always a chance you might meet some in there... but it's not a sure thing (like going to the Hunters where everyone and everything is cave-related). |

| The Altnacealgach Inn (The Alt) Assynt, Sutherland Scotland 1.5 miles east of Ledmore Junction on the single-track section of the Lochinver to Lairg A837 This is the nearest pub to the GSG hut in Elphin and you'll be made very welcome by Eric who has been known to cave (check the photographs on the walls) and Christine who serves great food and has done special curry evenings for groups. Unfortunately no real ale except on rare occasions when Eric knows there'll be enough cavers in the neighbourhood. The Inchnadamph Hotel (The Inch) Assynt, Sutherland At the head of Loch Assynt on the A837 Lochinver-Lairg road. This is the nearest hostelry to the main Assynt caves and suffered badly under the last owners. The new management (December 2003) have made a good start by reopening the bar and indulging in a spot of caving. |

| Fermanagh Pubs McKenzies Linnet Inn, Boho, Co. Fermanagh. 250m walk from Boho caves and described in "The Caves of Fermanagh and Cavan". Traditional thatched pub with cave lounge (has to be seen to be believed), usual Irish brews (excellent Guinness - truly superb on occasion). Cavan Pubs McGovern's Bush Bar and Frank Eddie Maguires in Blacklion are the two traditional cavers pubs in the Blacklion, Co. Cavan area. Frank Eddies now more popular. |
